A native of Greenville, Alabama, Russell earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Resources from Auburn University. Russell’s expertise lies in timberland management operations and silviculture, large-scale timber transactions and negotiations, and strategic planning.
Russell joined Larson & McGowin, Inc. in 1996. Prior to his current role as Vice-President of Forest Management Services, he served as a Branch Manager and Regional Manager. Russell provides leadership and supervision for timberland management operations on all client properties in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. Russell has over 20 years of experience in managing Southeastern timberland, including extensive experience in mixed natural pine, longleaf pine, bottomland hardwood, and pine plantation forest types. Russell is a Registered Forester in Alabama (AL #1719), is Chairman of the Alabama Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters, and an active member of the Alabama Forestry Association.
